Wax - This Is My Jam ft. Herbal T. (Live Acoustic) | Sugarshack Sessions

Back in February, my friends and I had a great experience down in Florida.  We assembled a band and played some music at The Sugarshack.  Today, the first recording from that session was released.  Check it out here!

Wax - This Is My Jam ft. Herbal T. (Live Acoustic) | Sugarshack Sessions

The song is called "This is my Jam."  It is a new one that features Herbal T rapping as well.  The band is Wax and The Hollywood Big Shots.

The Hollywood Big Shots is basically an assembly of all my good friends that I have been making music with over the last ten years or so.  In the case of the bass player, Herbal T, he is my twin brother.  So in terms of musical collaborators, our partnership is the most long term one I have... being that it was formed inside the womb of our mother who gave birth to us.  I have been making music with Herbs since I was a little kid.  He is also featured on "This is My Jam," the first release from the Sugarshack Sessions.

Davy Nathan is the keyboard player in the band.  He and I produced the majority of my last three albums together.  We also lived together for 6 years and are basically brothers.  Kush Mody is on drums, he produced my upcoming album that is already finished (look out for that later this year).  Lastly, my boy Jonathan Asperil is on guitar.  He produced my song "AIRBNB" as well as some other joints that will be coming soon.

Point is, while this band is new and has never played any other gig together, we have all worked together a lot, both live and in the studio.  So, because of that, if feels like we have a nice chemistry right off the bat;  which made the whole experience extremely fun for me and I think for all involved.

I cannot emphasize enough how great of an experience this was for me.  All I ever wanted to do since I was a little kid was be in a band.  To do this with my good friends was very fun and just a pure musical life experience.  This joyous sensation was elevated to the umpteenth degree by the exceptional hospitality and kindness that was shown to us by the folks at the Sugarshack.

If any of the people from Sugarshack are reading this, people such as Alex, Eddie, Greg, Barrett, Justin, Spencer, Bryce, and too many more to name.. thanks so much for the opportunity and for the love.  Also, thanks to my homies Wrek, Bernz, and Noms in ¡Mayday! for linking me up with the Shack.  Love yall!
